Utsav means celebration. Not the quiet kind — the kind with new clothes, too much mithai, and flowers on every surface of the house.
The Gajra jar leads. Jasmine and honeysuckle, softened with white tea and spun cotton, so it smells like flowers worn close to the skin rather than a flower shop. Light it before the guests arrive.
The Utsav box brings the rest of the festival. Halwai ki Dukaan is sugar browning in a hot kadai and the sweetshop you smell from fifty metres away. Phool Market is marigolds and rose petals on wet stone at five in the morning. Mango Lassi is the cold, sweet glass that ends the meal.
For the sister, the best friend, or anyone who always says yes to dessert.
